

It all started with a play.
The custodial death of Budhan Sabar, an innocent man from a Denotified tribe in West Bengal.
This is where the legacy of Budhan Theatre began, eventually becoming the roots that the Vimukta Reform grew from.

To become the voice on behalf of the Denotified Tribes (DNTs), victims of historical wrongdoings, of the system, and of society at large.

To ensure a dignified life for the Denotified Tribes (DNTs) of India, equipping them with education, unity, and ‘VIMUKTA’ (True freedom).
OUR PURPOSE
To empower Denotified Tribal Communities, create opportunities for dignified employment, and creating platforms where voices, stories, and rights are recognized and respected.


KEY INITIATIVES
Raising the issues of DNTs, through street theatre, films, and other modes of communication.
Provide dignified employment to the people of DNTs, especially for women.
Expanding the reach of quality education among children from these tribes. Vimukta runs 3 informal schools for underprivileged children, 90 students are imparted quality education by teachers.
